Buyers in the market for an affordable Chicago loft in the near west suburbs can find what they’re looking for at Artisan Lofts. The luxury development will offer a total of 42 one and two-bedroom lofts along the Roosevelt Road corridor just minutes from downtown Chicago.
Artisan Lofts is a project by two Chicago-based developers, Voigt Development and HomeWerks Development. HomeWerks Development has been actively building quality homes and condominiums for the past twenty years. Their projects can be found in Aurora, Lake Zurich, Lombard, and many other cities around the greater Chicagoland region.
One-bedroom lofts start in the $170s, with floor plans ranging from 728 square feet to as much as 762 square feet. Two-bedroom and two-bath lofts are priced from $210,000, and offer floor plans ranging from 980 square feet to as much as 1,320 square feet.
The developers plan to offer a variety of amenities standard with each unit at Artisan Lofts. Kitchens will come complete with an appliance package, laminate countertops, and optional breakfast bar.
The master bath will offer a soaking tub and shower, with high-quality fixtures throughout.
Optional amenities include a stainless steel appliance package, granite countertop, and Whirlpool bathtub. Buyers can also opt for a washer and dryer package and bamboo flooring. Another interesting option for buyers is a car lift that adds another parking space.
The location of Artisan Lofts may prove to be the biggest draw for buyers. The development will be located at Roosevelt Road and East Avenue in Berwyn.

According to the Chicago Association of Realtors, the number of condos sold in Berwyn has dropped over the last year. A total of 15 condominiums were sold in the neighborhood, down 35 percent from last year.
However, the number of condos on the market has also decreased. During the third quarter, the average turnover time for a property in Berwyn was down to 87 days, the second consecutive year that the turnover time has dropped in the neighborhood and an 18 percent drop from last year alone.
The average sales price for condos in the area also dropped during the third quarter, excellent news for buyers looking for a great deal in the area. According to the C.A.R. report, the average sales price now stands at $151,073, a six percent drop from the same period last year.
Buyers should keep on the lookout for excellent deals on condos around Berwyn. As the market slows, there may be even further drops in prices for property in the neighborhood.
