South Shore is home to some of the best deals on Chicago condos. The neighborhood offers a tranquil lifestyle, and is a good choice for buyers looking for affordable options. One development in the area that offers a number of affordable units is Grand Crossing, located at 1462 E 69th St.

Grand Crossing offers a total of 20 units for sale, with floor plans ranging from one to three bedrooms. Prices for units sold in the past from $120,000 to as much as $229,900. There are currently no units available on the market, but from recent sales we can get an idea of values at Grand Crossing. The most affordable unit to sell in recent months is a two-bedroom and one-bath condominium that sold for $165,000. Another two-bedroom and one-bath condo sold for $171,000 in February. The largest unit to sell in recent months was a three-bedroom and 2.5-bath condo that was on the market for just one day. This large duplex unit sold for just $229,900.

Residents enjoy a number of luxury amenities at Grand Crossing. Hardwood floors are found throughout the main living areas, and bedrooms come with plush carpeting. The kitchen comes with 42-inch maple cabinets and an appliance package. Each unit also features a washer and dryer. Residents enjoy extra storage space and central air conditioning. One drawback for Grand Crossing is the lack of parking. You'll have to find your own rental space in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood offers plenty of urban amenities, including restaurants and shopping. The area along Stoney Island Avenue is home to a number of restaurants for every budget, including Ms Minnie's Seafood and Sand's BBQ Ribs. There are also plenty of services and shops within walking distance.

Commuters enjoy convenient connections to the downtown Chicago business district. The nearest Metra station is just a short walk from home, and is located at Stoney Island and 71st. There are also many buses running through the neighborhood.

If you're looking for an active outdoor lifestyle in Chicago, this neighborhood offers what you need. The area is home to one of the largest lakefront parks in the city. Jackson Park features walking trails, bike paths, a golf course, lakes, and plenty of open green space to spend time with the entire family. Relax on the beach and take in the incredible views to downtown Chicago.

South Shore has seen a lot of new development in recent years, but sales are dropping off. According to the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of just 34 units were sold during the second quarter, down from 72 units sold during the same period in 2007. Prices were down 9 percent during the quarter, meaning great deals for buyers in the area.
