XO Condominiums

X/O is a condominium development at 18th street and Praier Avenue in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. The construction is planned to have 487 units in two towers, one of which will be a high rise with 45 stories, the other one will be a building with 34 stories. The whole project will cost about $250 million, and sales for these luxury condo units have already begun.

These Chicago condominium towers have a design that will reshape the Chicago skyline, becoming a new city symbol. It is totally innovative and the towers will close together at the ground and lean inward in the middle, according to the architect - Lucian Lagrange, a well known name in his specialty. His vision was for the building to have a great impact on the skyline, as it will be visible from Lake Shore Drive and McCormick Place. These two buildings are about to bring the 21st century into the South Loop, something that's never quite been done before to this extent.

The company responsible for the project is Kargil Development Partners LLC, which is a partnership between New York builder Jerry Karlik and Chicago's Keith Giles.

As for the floor plans, each floor is different because of the shape of the building. The condos will consist of one-bedroom, one-bath units, two-bedroom, two-bath units, and three-bedroom, three-bath units that will range in size from 599 to 2,500 square feet. In total, there will be about 200 different floor plans, so every unit will be unique. The price of these condominiums will vary from $200,000 to more than $2 million.

An integral part of this project will be the two-story amenities building, called Spa X/O. It will include a rooftop sundeck and misting park as well as indoor waterfalls, saunas and a swimming pool. There will also be an exercise area, clubhouse and a cinema for residential use.

All units will feature environmentally friendly construction and high-end flashes like granite and marble counter tops, porcelain tile in the bathrooms. The cabinetry is in European style, while the appliances in the kitchen are from stainless steel. Other high-end amenities include wiring for high-speed internet and a computerized concierge service where homeowners can access the Internet to order cabs or concert tickets.
