The condos at 777 S. Dearborn St. are the first phase of The Row Homes of Printers Row, a brand new development from Paramount Homes, which is the same company behind Bucktown Station. The plan is for what Paramount calls single family row homes in the South Loop's Printers Row area. The first phase will be five units that all feature private entrances, green space, decks, green roofs, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Funke Architecture, a firm known for contemporary yet natural structures and who also designed The Claremont Residence and 2736 N. Southport, is designing the project.

These Chicago luxury condo units will be located in the heart of Printers Row, which is a not-very-large area on Dearborn Street bordered by Polk Street and Congress Parkway. The district was originally home to printing plants in the 19th century that have been converted into apartments and loft-style condo units. It's southern end finishes at the Dearborn Station clock tower, which is itself a converted railroad terminal. Printers Row is a very desirable spot to set up housekeeping for those who need to be close to the Loop or the lake.

The Row Homes of Printers Row are being presented by Sudler Sotheby's International Realty and are priced starting at $2.5 million and are discussed by appointment only. Some area residents feel the homes are overpriced for the neighborhood and are wondering how successful this development will be. Others have concern over the amount of street noise on Dearborn, which could impact this type of dwelling.
