A total of 48 condos were sold during the period, a 52 percent drop from last year and the lowest total for the quarter in more than 15 years.

As sales drop, the inventory of unsold condos and townhomes on the market continues to grow. According to the C.A.R. report, the turnover time now stands at 139 days, a 124 percent increase in just one year.

As demand plummets and the more sellers compete for fewer buyers, itís no surprise that prices are starting to come down in Skokie. The average sales price during the third quarter was down 9 percent from the same period last year, and now stands at $232,620.
