Park MonroeClick Here To Get Up To Date Pricing & Availability55 East Monroe has been a jewel in Chicago's skyline crown for over 30 years and now, thanks to a transformation that will turn the buildings' upper floors into luxurious condominium homes, city dwellers are invited to own a piece of that crown for themselves. The Park Monroe features panoramic views of Lake Michigan as well as protected landmarks like Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain, and Millennium Park through the floor-to-ceiling windows that are an integral part of these spectacular residences. ![]() An artist's rendering of the Park Monroe These homes feature all the high-end amenities one would expect. Owners will enjoy the finest services and views the city can provide. The properties feature hardwood floors throughout and epic ceilings that enhance the grand views available of the lake and downtown. The condo's interior design is upscale and modern, thanks to Pappageorge/Haymes, Ltd., and is complimented by kitchen and dining areas that boast European-style cabinets, stainless steel appliances and natural gas ranges. Each unit also has wi-fi access, in-home washer/dryer hookups, personal storage units, and year-round, individually controlled heating and cooling. Residents can take advantage of a fitness center, a swimming pool, spa, and sundeck, as well as a big-screen DVD theater. There is also an entertaining suite that includes a catering kitchen and The Park Monroe's signature rooftop garden that looks out over the lake. One-and two-bedroom floor plans are available. 300 total units are planned. The condos lie on floors 42 through 50 in the building, which is converted office space, and are moving steadily towards completion. The sales center has some models you can walk through and can be quite enticing to fans of all things sleek and modern. Critics of the project, however, point out that the units are long and narrow and will not allow residents to bask in as much natural light as some other developments. It is too early to tell how successful these layouts will be, but the word on the street is that the building is almost half sold out of first-phase units. Others are concerned about plans for a new facade on the upper third of the building, which could change the artistic integrity of the structure as a whole.
