The South Loop has undergone one of the biggest changes of any part of downtown Chicago. The neighborhood that was once home to abandoned railyards and old warehouses now offers some of the most luxurious developments in the city.

One of the largest redevelopments in the South Loop is Dearborn Park. This planned community was built on top of former railroad land just south of the downtown Chicago business district. The development was one of the first to usher in change in the neighborhood, and offers a number of floor plans for buyers to choose from.

There are currently several units for sale at Dearborn Park. One unit on the market is a one-bedroom condominium located at 899 S. Plymouth Ct. This unit is priced at $204,000. Another unit currently on the market is a two-bedroom and two-bath townhome located at 1441 S. Plymouth Ct. This incredible opportunity can be yours for $489,000.

Residents of Dearborn Park enjoy luxury amenities such as a gourmet kitchen packed with an appliance package, custom cabinets, and a breakfast bar. Larger units offer pantry space. Residents also enjoy hardwood floors and private outdoor space. Some units include a gas fireplace. Townhomes offer a private yard and paved driveway.

Residents of the condominium units enjoy common amenities such as a party room, extra storage, 24-hour doorman service, and an outdoor pool. Parking is available throughout the neighborhood.

The development is one of the most conveniently located condominium projects in the South Loop. Residents of Dearborn Park are steps from many of the best restaurants, bars, and shopping south of downtown.

The area is also a great location for young professionals who want to walk to work. The downtown Chicago business district is literally out your front door. Nearby El and Metra trains provide easy access to the rest of Chicago. CTA buses are also readily available in the neighborhood.

Residents are also steps from the Museum Campus, home to the Field Museum of Natural History and the John G. Shedd Aquarium. Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears, is just a few minutes’ walk from Dearborn Park.

If you’re in the market for a luxury condominium in the South Loop, keep up with the latest statistics and news coming out of the real estate market to make the right decision for you and your family.

According to recent data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, sales in the Loop have hit a new high as new developments attract interest from wealthy buyers looking to enjoy an urban lifestyle in the heart of downtown.

A total of 401 condos were sold during the third quarter, an 80 percent increase from the same period last year and the highest total sales for the third quarter in more than 16 years.

The increased interest in condominiums around the Loop has brought the average turnover time down for four consecutive years. It now takes condo owners and developers an average of 62 days to find a buyer for their unit in the Loop. This is more than one month below the average for all of Chicago.

Prices continue to rise in the neighborhood. The average sales price shot up by 39 percent during the third quarter, helped out by the number of new luxury developments on the market and the fast-paced sales in the neighborhood.
