30 West OakClick Here To Get Detailed InformationThere are many luxury high-rise properties going up in Chicago that all seem to trumpet similar amenities and features. With so many buildings in the same ballpark, what the choice really comes down to for homebuyers is space, location, and flexibility. The new Smithfield residences at 30 West Oak promise to deliver on all three fronts and the structure is becoming one of the city’s most anticipated new towers. Designed by well-known area architects Booth Hansen, this is clearly not your fathers’ old-school square skyscraper. The building is split into opposing halves with an ever-so-slightly canted concrete section on the north and a graceful glass and steel structure on the south end. Living spaces will be in the glass portion and more secluded spaces will occupy the concrete areas. This design makes 30 West Oak one of Chicago’s most unique places to live. There are a number of different floor plans to pick from at 30 West. They range from one to four bedrooms and are found in different spots over the buildings’ 24 floors. The great thing is that there are no more than two homes on each floor, so each unit delivers the maximum space available to its owner. Units run from 1257 square feet to 4691 square feet in size, have at least ten-foot ceilings, and offer unobstructed views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline. The tower also has a one-level heated indoor garage, a 24-hour doorman, a modern fitness center, separate storage areas, bicycle storage, owner-controlled on demand heating and cooling year-round, and a monitored fire sprinkler system. The interiors at 30 West are uniformly high-end and display many luxurious finishes. There are Poggenpohl kitchens and bathrooms, Sub-Zero refrigerators, Miele or Themador ovens and dishwashers, floor-to-ceiling windows, granite counter tops, frameless glass shower doors, 6-foot soaking tubs, and built-in master closet furniture. The units also boast Grohe faucets, 8-foot-high solid core doors, and spacious outdoor balconies. The location of the building itself, in the heart of Chicago’s ultra-desirable Gold Coast, is a luxury in itself and gives residents a prestigious address in addition to putting them within minutes of the best shopping, fine dining, and entertainment the city has to offer. The 30 West Oak project is another in Smithfield Properties’ string of residential developments that includes Erie on the Park, Willow Court, and the Bosworth Homes. 30 West was scheduled for first occupancy last summer and the Smithfield web site lists the building as currently for sale. The sales center that was on-site has been demolished to make way for the construction to be completed, so those wanting to investigate live here should contact Smithfield directly. They are located at 400 West Huron in Chicago. by Mike O'Cull I'M INTERESTEDTo:
