The Chicago Loop is Chicago's official downtown.

The Loop borders on the the Chicago River to the West, Michigan Avenue to the east, Wacker Drive on the north and Congress Parkway on the south.

The Sears Tower (now called the Willis Tower), City hall, Board Of Trade, The Opera House, Mercantile Exchange, Millennium Park, Grant Park, Lower Wacker Drive, The Picasso Sculpture, Buckingham Fountain, The Chicago Theatre, Auditorium Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, The Art Institute are all located in the Loop.

The Loop is now home to about twenty or so condo developments. Some of these condos are new construction and others are conversions.

The big draw to living in the Loop is no commute... living close to work. Because saving two hours a day in commute time is an astounding 40 hours a month!
