Humboldt Park is an increasingly popular choice for buyers looking for affordable condos and lofts in Chicago. The area offers tree lined streets and a more relaxed lifestyle than areas closer to downtown. One large development that offers a number of lofts is Parc Lofts. This four-story building is located at 1820 N Spaulding Ave.

There are no units currently available in this popular development, but past sales can give us an idea of prices in the building. There are one, two, and three-bedroom floor plans. The most affordable one-bedroom and one-bath unit to sell in recent months offers a total of 991 square feet of living space. This unit sold for just $154,900, or less than $200 per square foot. The assessments for this unit are $160 per month. Other smaller one-bedroom units with 800 square feet of living space have been priced from $164,900.

There are also several two-bedroom floor plans available from time to time. The most affordable two-bedroom unit to sell was priced at $200,000, but eventually sold for $218,000. These units offer from 920 square feet of living space. The most expensive unit to sell in recent months was a three-bedroom and 1.5-bath loft that has a total of 1,373 square feet of living space. This unit sold for $346,000, and has assessments of $275.

Residents of Parc Lofts enjoy a long list of modern amenities. Each loft comes with a gourmet kitchen with 42-inch cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast bar with granite countertops. The master bath features dual sinks and black granite countertops. Each unit also features hardwood floors throughout the main living areas as well as carpeted bedrooms. Other features include high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural light throughout the day. Residents on the top floors will enjoy gorgeous skyline views from the private outdoor terrace. Parking is available in the attached heated garage, and the building has been fitted with central air conditioning.

The development is located in a quiet neighborhood, but there are several restaurants and shops within a short walk from home. Armitage Ave and North Ave are both home to several restaurants for all budgets. Popular choices include Streetside Café, Treat Restaurant, and Golden Chef Chinese Kitchen, among others. Nightlife in the area includes Rosa's Lounge and Tumao Bar and Grill.

One big drawback to the neighborhood is the lack of El or Metra service. The closest Metra station is located about 15 blocks east, while the El is too far away to easily use. There are, however, several buses running through the area for those who travel to the downtown Chicago business district and other neighboring areas.

However, the plentiful park space in the neighborhood is the perfect choice for buyers interested in living an active outdoor lifestyle. Gigantic Humboldt Park is located just four blocks from home, making it easy to enjoy a morning jog or a day with friends and family in the sun any time of year.
