Tandem Lofts

The Tandem Lofts are located at 1631 S. Michigan Avenue on Chicago's Near South Side, at Bicycle Station. The elevator building features loft condominiums over its six stories, with 52 units total. The structure is an adaptive, mixed-use development of a 1920's warehouse building. Re-using such a historic building presented myriad challenges on the way to completion. Tandem Developers rose to the occasion, however, and greatly improved the building with many new structural components, added a large amount of indoor parking, and built three all-new residential stories and a rooftop terrace. Completed in the late 1990's, The Tandem Lofts were 100% sold out inside of six months.
