Lakeview Collection Lofts

A new development in the heart of Lakeview is taking shape. The Lakeview Collection Lofts lie in between Lincoln Park, Roscoe Village, and Wrigleyville, thereby providing access to all that these neighborhoods have to offer. The building is located at Lincoln, Belmont, and Ashland streets. The developer hopes that newer communities such as this one will allow people to walk, rather than drive, to socialize and to obtain needed goods.

The Lakeview Collection is a six-story condo loft building with 130 units. The pricing on the homes range from $275,000 to $600,000, and the units available include one bedroom one bath, one bedroom, 1.5 baths, one bedrooms plus den, and two bedroom, two bath units. Home size ranges from 767 to 1432 square feet and each of the units have 10 foot ceilings. The kitchens will feature Italian cabinets with sliding glass doors, kitchen islands, and stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms -- continuing the Italian trend -- will have Italian porcelain tile, a trough sink, and a frosted glass wall, as well as high-efficiency Grohe fixtures and rain shower heads. Residents may choose from several colors of oak flooring, and all units have terraces or balconies.

The building will contain a 35,000 square foot public health club, an owner’s lounge with kitchen, a full service bank, and a business center. A doorman will be available, along with a bike room and storage space for the residents. A green roof is also planned for the building, continuing the emphasis on environmentally friendly construction. The units rest above 80,000 square feet of retail space and 10,000 square feet of office space. More than one restaurant is planned, some with outdoor dining space. Plenty of open park space is included in the development, such as a 8,000 square foot park and a 10,000 square foot plaza.

Lakeview is a thriving neighborhood, and the development is close in proximity to a Whole Foods, a Treasure Island, a CVS, several spas, Powell’s Books, a Blockbuster, and a Trader Joe’s. Powells Books has a reading every third Thursday, and is located at 2850 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Centrum Properties is responsible for The Lakeview Collection, and Centrum is developer that is famous in Chicago for mixed-use spaces. Centrum has recently expanded to include the development of properties in Florida, Manhattan, DC, Boston, and San Francisco. Other Chicago residential communities by this developer are Churchill Row, Dearborn Mews, and the Sewing Exchange. Centrum has recently received awards for its rehabilitation projects from the Chicago Landmark Preservation Council. Cecconi Simone is responsible for the interior architectural design. Located in Toronto, the interdisciplinary consulting firm is designing for many residential properties across the US and internationally.
