According to data from the Chicago Association of Realtors, a total of 391 condos were sold during the fourth quarter. This is a drop of 3 percent from the same period in 2006, and the second straight year that sales have come down in the neighborhood.

However, despite the drop in sales, the average turnover time for condos and lofts on the market also dropped during the fourth quarter. If you're selling your condo in the neighborhood, it will now take you 95 days to find a buyer, down from 99 days a year ago.

With a steady inventory of condos on the market, prices in the neighborhood continued to rise. The average sales price during the fourth quarter was 5 percent higher than during the same period in 2006, and should continue to show signs of strength despite a drop in demand for condos in the neighborhood.
