Magellan Development Group is one of the largest developers in the Chicago region. The award-winning company offers combined experience of more than a century in the Chicago real estate market. Awards won by Magellan include the 2008 Best of Chicago Award from the USLBA and the 2008 Prix d'Excellence for the Lakeshore East master plan.

Magellan Development Group has developed both commercial and residential properties around the city. The company is responsible for more than 12,000 residential units. Past projects include State Place, a 24-story tower located at 1111 S State Street in the South Loop. This development offers a total of 243 luxury units. Another distinctive development by Magellan is the Farallon. This 21-story tower is located at 600 N Dearborn, and offers a total of 161 condominiums. Other distinctive properties by Magellan include 21 West Chestnut, Park Newberry, Admiral's Pointe, the Caravel, and Park Alexandria.

The company is currently working on one of the biggest developments to come to the Loop. Lakeshore East is a master-planned community located on 28 acres of prime real estate in downtown Chicago. The $4 billion development will offer commercial, retail, park, and residential space. A total of 1,500 hotel rooms, 4,950 residential units, and 2.2 million square feet of commercial space will be available upon completion of this innovative community. The master plan was designed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, and has bee awarded the Prix d'Excellence eand the 2002 Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design.

The development will offer a number of distinctive high-rise condominium buildings, including Aqua. Located at 225 N Columbus Drive, this 82-story building will offer a total of 264 condos, 476 rental units, and 210 hotel rooms. More than 17,000 square feet of retail space will also be built here. The first deliveries of these luxury units are planned for 2009. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of several luxury townhomes planned for Lakeshore East. The Parkhomes at Lakeshore East are a collection of 24 luxury townhomes with lake and park views. Construction on these units will wrap up towards the end of the year, with first deliveries set for late 2008.

Several buildings have already been completed, with immediate deliveries available. The Shoreham was one of the first new buildings to be built at Lakeshore East. Completed in 2005, this 46-story building offers a total of 548 condos, as well as 11,000 square feet of retail space. The Lancaster was the first building to open its doors in Lakeshore East. This 29-story building offers a total of 209 luxury residences. Another building that has been completed is the The Regatta. This 44-story building offers a total of 325 luxury residences, and another 8,600 square feet of retail space.

Rental units currently under construction at Lakeshore East include The Tides. This 51-story tower will offer a total of 608 rental units, as well as 11,000 square feet of retail space. Construction on this building will wrap up later this year.

Other features at Lakeshore East include a six-acre public park. The Shore Club is more like a country club in the heart of the city. Residents of Lakeshore East will enjoy the finest amenities in the Shore Club, including a modern fitness center, several pools, and plenty more.
