Lexington Park Condominiums are being built on the site of the former Lexington Hotel in the rapidly expanding South Loop district. Far form ordinary, this structure's modern architectural design of glass and aluminum curtain walls in front give it a distinct appearance. Lexington Park's layout consists of a mid-rise building that s connected to a high-rise tower. The goal was to create an environmentally friendly structure, with many recycled materials and products used in the construction. The building received its LEED certification and encourages residents to participate in living green by extensive trash recycling and utilizing the abundant natural light from the floor to ceiling windows in each unit. Bicycle paths run along Wabash Avenue and Roosevelt Street and the condo sports bicycle storage facilities and a changing room. The neighborhood of the South Loop is quickly becoming a favorite place to live in Chicago. Dozens of outdoor activities and events are on tap at Grant, Millennium and Museum Park to the shores of Lake Michigan and Burnham Harbor. Museum Campus offers plenty of artistic and cultural diversity, as does the downtown district. Major sporting and concert events are held at nearby Soldier Field. McCormick Place stands on Indiana Boulevard to the east and is touted at being one of the largest convention centers in the U.S. Michigan Avenue to the west is home to some of the world's finest retailers and boutiques. Restaurants provide a variety of dining choices. Chinatown, Little Italy or any number of other eateries are only a short distance away. Lexington Park will cater to the lifestyles of its residents with 18,000 square feet of retail space on its lower levels. A 640 square foot complete fitness center with cardiovascular exercise equipment and yoga room is available for use. The building's rooftop deck sprawls out 15,000 square feet and features grilling areas, pool, landscaping with native plantings and a dog run. For entertaining large groups inside, the party room is perfect with 1,300 square feet of floor space including a complete kitchen. There is a 24 hour doorman on duty and four levels of heated indoor parking. Individual condo kitchens contain finishes such as long lasting granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances including microwave, dish washer, refrigerator and gas range. The baths have beautiful Carrara marble floors and walls, wood vanities and durable Moen plumbing fixtures. Natural bamboo flooring is standard in the common rooms and the bedrooms are fitted with Mohawk/Portico Ultrastrand Stainguard carpet. With such careful attention to building design, environmental compatibility and homeowner comfort, The Chieftain Group has made an impressive first mark on the skyline of Chicago. |
