January 7, 2008 - The soft opening of the hotel portion of the Trump Tower may have been pushed back because of permit problems, but it’s safe to start looking forward to the March opening of Sixteen, the upscale restaurant headed by chef Frank Brunacci and located on the 16th floor of Trump.
Time Out Chicago ran an article describing the new restaurant that will serve meals all day as having curved windows that span 30 feet high and a layered chandelier made from Swarovski crystals. The menu is being called New American with selections such as cilantro salad, quail breast and beet puree. A Champagne High tea service and amazing wine choices will round out the dining experience at Sixteen. Chef Brunacci’s impressive credentials include twenty years in Australia and England plus time with the Ritz Carlton hotels in Atlanta and New Orleans.
Construction on the 92 story tower has reached the 55th floor. Once the hotel suites finally open this spring, the lower level condos should close next. The condos located on the uppermost floors and the penthouse suites are scheduled to close sometime in 2009. The opening of Trump is one of the most anticipated of the crop of Downtown Chicago Condos and other neighborhood high-rises in 2008.
