comments!
January 2, 2009 – EnV may in fact be the envy of a few Chicago real estate developers. Work on the 29 story apartment tower has started on 161 West Kinzie and Lynd Development Partners out of Texas is hoping that their first project here is a success. The River North high-rise will contain 249 rental units, 27,000 square feet of retail space on the first three floors and a 129 car garage. The apartments are expected to be ready for first move-in by mid 2010.
EnV will be among the first group of rental towers to achieve LEED certification for incorporating eco-friendly elements in its design as well as during actual construction of the tower. Lynd Development plans to market the apartments to everyone from students to professionals to who are attracted to a modern building with green elements located in the trendy River north neighborhood. They hope to entice renters who crave luxury Chicago condo amenities. The wide selection of local retail, restaurant and entertainment options are also a definite plus for this development.
EnV also plans to be the first rental tower in the U.S. to have both V-Connect and Shop24. V-Connect is a system from Apple Computers that enables renters to control their security and other apartment electronics from their iPhone or iPod. Shop24 is a shopper and techno-phile’s dream that stocks 150 selections that can be bought with credit or debit cards or cash.
Other features at EnV include virtual concierge service, fitness center, roof top deck, dog run, pool, wine storage lockers, party room/lounge with kitchen, DVD capabilities, internet cafe and coffee bar plus the ability to pay your rent online. And speaking of rent, monthly prices at EnV will run about $1,500 for a studio and as much as $4,800 for one of the largest penthouse apartments, according to the developer’s press release. If EnV sounds good to you, you should have time between now and 2010 to Sell your Chicago Condo and get a unit there.
