March 2, 2009 – It may not be a downtown Chicago real estate development, but Optima Woods in Skokie can hold its own when compared to most other luxury high-rises. The cluster of three connected towers, designed by David Hovey, won the 2008 Agent’s Choice Award for the suburban Favorite Overall New Development. And with structural and exterior construction wrapped up as well as most of the interior condo work nearly finished, at least from a visual standpoint its easy to see why this project would be a favorite for many reasons.

The first tower has been completely sold out for some time, and tower two is almost sold out as well. Fewer than a dozen units are still available in that building, but the third phase or building is only about one third under contract and recently held a grand opening. There are a total of 668 units at Optima Woods, and the developer is advertising some pretty good discounts on the remaining suburban Chicago condos in this complex.

The amount of the discount increases with the price of the unit. You can get $10,000 off of the one bedroom condos that are still for sale, $20,000 off the two bedroom units still available and $30,000 off the remaining three bedroom condos. Prices range anywhere from the mid $200,000s to mid $500,000s. The largest units can run well over a million.

The condos have from one to four bedrooms, floor to ceiling windows, recessed balconies and terraces, gourmet kitchens, luxury baths and optional gas fireplace. Building amenities include a two story pool, tennis court, two story party room, fitness center with spa, landscaped gardens and wooded views, courtyard with reflecting pool and a total of seven different levels of green roof sky gardens and heated parking is included.

If you’re looking for a luxury condo outside the city, Optima Woods may fit the bill. And there are some good prices on Chicago New Construction Condos as well.
